Stuff and Nonsense?
Oh, yes. Lots of it.

First-off, all the latest crap:

"Mortals" for brigits_flame. I was up until 5 AM writing the damn thing, as eltea and jenwryn can testify. XD And I scared the shit out of myself in the process; it's easily the creepiest thing I've ever written. XD

And some Death Note, of course. The first is a drabble composed of virtually nothing but Matt/Mello innuendo, which is the best kind. Or something. :P It's called Shameless, and I actually said "Oh, God" aloud when I typed one of the lines. XD

The other is the thing I wrote trying to start Shameless, which is kind of sad and resigned and... the usual. XD Okay, or here at the comm. Also Matt/Mello, and has B in it, for some unknown reason.

I discovered some things after getting those glorious three hours of sleep Thursday night (or, rather, Friday morning), then proceeding to go to Intro to Acting, a.k.a. Theater 10. The first is that I talk to inanimate objects -- particularly my computer -- a hell of a lot more when I'm extremely sleep-deprived. Also, my balance gets a lot worse. XD I was weirdly coherent, though, for most of the day. And only almost-fell-asleep twice, once on the train and once while I was talking to jenwryn online. XD I was also a bit of a looser hinge as far as swinging emotions go, or at least I was when my computer was threatening to act up... O_o Never fear; I got eleven hours last night, so the average for the last two days is seven. Which is about the most I got over the course of last week, so that's fair...? XD

Ummm... other things!

teenelizabeth sent me another Mae CD, because she is a wonderfully lovely human being! ♥ ^^

icequeenrex introduced me to the song "New Soul" by Yael Naïm the other day, and I adore it to pieces. :P It's just so... head-bob-able. XD And impossible-to-be-sad-listening-to. 8D

I am about to tell you the most pathetically sad thing you will ever hear. Ready? Theater 10, as I have discovered, is practically half-P.E., half-drama. We do a lot of walking around, and then April will give us instructions on what the conditions are, and we have to react to them, for starters. And we stretch a lot. And Friday we did diaphragm exercises. Yes. Exercises. Oh, oh, oh, NOES. XD

Yes, my friends. I am sore from my theater class. All around the world, facepalming was heard. XD

As I have discovered, I have no abdominal muscles whatsoever. And my sides hurt. XD

Anyway, then I went into mandatory Office Hours for ten minutes of talking with April and getting a little better-acquainted, because our class is big, so we spent pretty much the whole time talking about Shakespeare. 8D Turns out she double-majored in English and Theater, and we have performing the good stuff in common, so that was pretty cool. ^____^ Though I think she was a little disappointed that the only real reason I could give for taking the class was, "I want to have fun with it." :P And that, when asked if I was going to audition for things over the course of the semester, my reply was something to the effect of, "Yeah, probably a little bit, later..." XD

I probably will, though, unless the class sates my desire for performance, which it may. I did do Theater for Charity last year, after all. Which was a lot of fun, but which also put me off theater a little in that it required ten dollars in dues and three hours of handing out fliers in the main square of the school. Admittedly, not all organizations would probably require all those things, but it makes me a bit leery. XD

I did learn many interesting things from T4C, however. Including that some people are actually better actors when they're drunk; that even when you and the other two main guys in your one-act have not added brandy to your Coke during the "traditional" Drunk Rehearsal, you will begin acting drunk as the two other characters and the director do; and that college parties, including theater cast parties, are really boring, and going and getting pizza with eltea at one in the morning is way more fun. :P

Also, while I'm on the subject, I read a really amazing play earlier for my other theater class, which was "Yankee Dawg You Die," by Philip Kan Gotanda, and was just... crazy-good. For instance:

"Vincent: I have this dream. In this dream there is a man. And though this man is rich, successful, famous, he is unhappy, so very unhappy. He is unhappy because the love around him, the love in the hearts of those he cared for most, was beginning to shrivel and wither away. And this, in turn, made his own heart begin to grow in order to make up for the love that was disappearing around him. And the more hte love in the hearts of those around him shriveled up, the bigger his own heart grew in order to make up for the growing emptiness that he now began to feel. So the love kept withering away and his heart kept growing bigger. Until one day there was so little love around him and his own heart so big -- it burst into a thousand red petals that filled the sky and fell slowly, so very slowly, to the earth. And the people, his friends, the ones who had withheld their love, began to swallow those petals, these remains of the man's glorious heart as they fell from the sky. Hungrily, they fed. Greedily, they swallowed. They pushed and shoved each other, gorging themselves on these petals because they felt that then they too would become like the man. Rich, famous, beautiful, lonely..."

It's all about Asian-American drama and whatnot. And it rawks. \m/

So yes. I've had some dialogue jotted down since one in the morning yesterday for that bunny I showed you, and I ought to type it up now. XD

Moar ficspam tomorrow. XD

Feeling: soresore

It's a lot of fun. When it's not lame.

Who said that? XD

(I think I actually recognized your name a few months ago while cruising somebody's icons, having heard Jenny mention you, and was like Whoa! :O)

(Icon looooove. Damn it, they're so pretty. XD)

And perpetually sleep is a perfectly good excuse in my book. XD

She sent me "The Everglow," and "Singularity" jumped out at me faster, but this one's staring to grow on me. ^_^ I could, uh, send you a copy of the copy, if you wanted, which would be perfectly legal and morally commendable. :P

Wow, the prose sounds beautiful.

Also, drunk rehersals? OOOOHHH. XD

It was reaaaally cool. ^___^

Oh, yes. And then drunk performances. XD

No need to facepalm; I’ve gotten sore from dance class. XD Anything physical can wear you out if it involves muscles you don’t use much. XD

Ooh yes, the lame party and the pizza we ditched it for. =D ♥

It hurts us, Precioussss! XD Fucking Elven classes...

PLUS, it makes a way better story than "We were at a party, and we just sat there being bored until we got thrown up on," y/y? XD
Charlottekoneko_zero on February 2nd, 2009 01:13 am (UTC)
The prose was all beautiful, honey, I tip my hat to you! ♥

Sleep? Umm, I will try. Later. XD

Awww, sweetie! XD *hugs* If it's any consolation, I'm getting more and more sore increasingly easily as well. NOT KOSHER, MAN.

Drunken lessons, how I love thee! I always found it fun when I was doing A-Levels, with half the class drunk, hung over and/or sleep deprived. It was classic... =D

I have a pizza downstairs. It's after 1am. Pizza time anyway? ... I think I may have to.

I may have to hunt that play down - it looks very cool. Thank you for the info!

Thank you, darling!! ^^

lol, same here. XD

Muscles... who needs 'em? XD

The greatest was that we had the cast party on Saturday night, after a performance on Friday, and everyone came to the Sunday matinee hungover, only to get wasted again in order to perform. There was much "...." from my end. XD

You betcha! ^^

If I could get over my fear of improv I would take an acting class... XP

Being sore sucks. Seriously. Especially when you didn't feel like you were doing anything then you wake up and can't move. Ugh.

I would love to have gone to that drunk rehersal and performance. It must have been so entertaining. : )

That play looks really interesting...
Vitamin Ctierfal on February 4th, 2009 04:57 am (UTC)
We haven't done that much improv in mine. And you were great in Kroesche's class!! :)

I was mostly just laughing at myself. Like, who gets sore from ACTING CLASS? XD Ah well. :P

It was pretty ridiculous. XD We did a lot more laughing hysterically than actually rehearsing. XD And the drunk performances... it was crazy. :P If you'd told me they were all sober, I wouldn't have doubted you at all. XD

It was crazy-cool. O_o
