I've been meaning to post all these for a while. XD

1. Did You Know? 2008. CRAZY, MAN. XD

2. This almost killed me: Caution! Zombies Ahead! ...I see how it's hazardous and so forth -- but it's also FRIGGING HILARIOUS. XD

3. I re-stumbled upon this the other day. It's a de-motivational poster I made out of the first essay prompt I ever got in college. I'm impressed with me for not quitting. :P (My T.A. was the most pretentious person I've ever encountered in my life, which explains... everything. XD)

4. Take an hour out of your life -- find one (or, if you're stupid like me, take it intermittently between midnight and four in the morning XD) -- and watch this video on the anthropology of YouTube. It is fascinating and incredible and enlightening and will reinforce your faith in humanity. Coming from me, that's saying something. XD

5. Sad but true. XD Don't forget to mouse over every XKCD comic for the last word. 8D

...that will be all. XD I have a million more XKCD links saved, but that, my friends, is for another time, when you don't have a frigging amazing anthropology video to watch. :D

It was touch and go, to say the least. :P

We did a very short literary analysis strategies unit in English in twelfth grade, and my group was deconstruction, and we were all just like, ".....?" XD

I took a class called "Deconstructing Deconstruction," and I still don't know what it is. >.<

That essay prompt! Hwee! I read The Faerie Queen, and I think I understood about a fifth of what happened in it. And good grief! That first sentence is worded so... weirdly.

Watch out for those Zombies,

That's because it is... I don't actually remember what it is, except that there was something about everything meaning a multiplicity of things or... something... XD

My T.A. was a piece of work. XD We were laughing at him when we didn't want to throw rocks at him. XD

You, too! Carry a shotgun!,

Oh, internet. You make life worth living.

Of course, you're also enough to make one suicidal at times...

Seconded on both counts. XD

Well, it's an essay prompt when the T.A.'s name is Bradford Q. Boyd and he wants to make your life hell. :P The guy used the word "lapidary" in discussion once and was OBSESSED with this, like, hidden garden trope that he saw in virtually everything we read. XD

My final paper for my Medieval European history class last semester was nothing more or less than, "Because of Carolingian Christianity...", and the essay was to write ten pages to end that sentence. XD

The average English prompt is usually more like, hmm, lemme find one....

3. As a symbolic object of supreme power, the royal crown is fraught with many meanings, which often reflect the condition of its beholder. Think about what the crown “means” at various times to Richard II, Henry IV, Prince Hal, and Henry V, and write an essay about the way the crown becomes a vehicle for the expression of its beholder’s subjectivity.

...which I wrote on last semester. 8D Looking through, it's the shortest prompt on the list, but they seem to be fairly straightforward on the whole. XD

lol, that's fair! 8D Plus I love exploring the subtle cultural differences, so it works! :D

It was interesting, to say the least! XD Just like, "Uh, where shall I begin?" XD

1. I'm going to watch this later when my crocodile of a sister isn't around. :3
2. That is fucking HILAR. Lmfao. *dies* I wish I had the skill to do that.
5. Ah, XKCD. How I love you so. But the creator is such a weirdo, lol.

1. Sounds fair! :D

2. I'd put something scandalous. Or something that would make fangirls everywhere have seizures. Like, "MATT/MELLO 4EVA" or some shit. XD

5. The thing I love most about it is the genuine sentiments juxtaposed with things like his extremely rational fear of velociraptors. XD
Rexicequeenrex on February 8th, 2009 08:25 am (UTC)
1. That was great! I was even pleased with myself for being able to foresee the countries and years to come while watching! XD

2. That was friggin hilarious! Hahaha!!

3. That was an essay prompt? I nearly cried while reading it (>.<) Yeaaah I'm much more used to straightforward prompts and questions although that's probably going to change by the time I get into uni...

4. .....still watching it XD

5. Just...just, 8O Deconstruction...uh, yeah our English teacher did a whole three months with us on that, trying to teach us the importance of it when analysing texts. I think I nearly headwalled myself halfway through the fifth lesson...

1. I love crazy statistics. Which is weird, since I hate math. :P

3. My T.A. was a sadist. Fortunately, I survived. XD Usually they're not nearly that bad, good heavens. XD

4. :D

5. I think the point might be that there is no point, or if it is, you can't know it. :P
