Not Much to Report
And yet I insist upon reporting anyway.

I am a sadistic creature, aren't I?

The reason L looks alarmed in this icon -- the real reason, that is -- is that I've begun posting my (admittedly very short, but passably amusing, at least I think) first-ever chaptered DN fic.  Yes indeedly.  And for once there aren't any spoilers whatsoever, unless you count the fact the general context of Matt and Mello, all of which is by necessity purely extrapolated, and which ergo doesn't really spoil anything anyway.

Yeah, that was an unnecessary paragraph.  I'm having an unnecessary sort of a day.  Bleh.

Anyways, I really like the way the fic turned out, despite (or perhaps as a result of) the fact that it's the most candid thing I think I've ever written.  It's taking that dubious honor from Perchance to Dream, if that's any indication.

Now that I've hyped the living daylights out of it... Recorded History, Chapter One.

Utterly unrelatedly, my sister sister randomly found the "Lion King" soundtrack last night where it lurked in the endless rows of CDs on our mantle.  We have been amusing ourselves.

I'm tired of school already.  When's Christmas, again? ;_;

December 25th. So far away...

My sister has a Lion King soundtrack! Haven't listened to that thing in years.

Aaaauuughh. XD

Yeah, it was majorly nostalgic. Very odd. XD

More icon love. 8D

I'm excited to go find your review. I think the rambling ones are often the most fun, and hopefully other people agree, 'cause that's usually the type I leave. XD

Yeah, I couldn't see any of them! Didn't think to check your, y'know, actual journal, 'cause that would make, y'know, a whole lot of sense. I don't do sense.

Amusingly enough "I wonder if Jenwryn has dropped off of the face of the Earth" was my thought, just about verbatim, on the matter yesterday. And I was going to message you today asking about it. XD

So yay for it getting fixed! :D

Hi! Mosied over here from jenwryn's site.

I am curious about the sometimes androganeous fellow who expresses your every mood. Who might he be?

I am guessing he is in a band but I am older than your set and cannot pick them out of a line up. I thought that make up on boys and odd clothing died with the 80's, glad to see there is a resurgence.

Yes, he is! :D It is Gerard Way, who is superfantasmic both for looking at AND listening to. XD

Yes, that's him being petted by Frank Iero, who's the rhythm guitarist... They're actually both married, and not to each other, and have a lovely and slightly-ambiguous friendship, which amuses me. XD

Oh, the bad press. XD MCR definitely gets a bad rap, and many of their fans are scary and psychotic (I suppose having a Gerard Way mood theme might perforce include me in their number...), and I used to make fun of them constantly. Then, of course, eltea hit up one of their concerts with her brother, who's a longtime fan, and we started watching their music videos on YouTube, and then... it was all downhill from there. XD

Ok, see...there is something beautiful about being older. I never paid any attention to the bad press (or any bad press (or good press to be honest) that is related to the entertainment industry) and just let myself either enjoy or not enjoy the music, which is why I came (turned on the radio) in the first place.

The beauty of age is not giving a rat's ass about what someone else thinks of what I'm doing/listening to/watching/writing/reading/etc.

Disregarding public opinion is so rarely a bad thing... I'm getting to the point where I go, "Aw, but everybody says... Well, wait, when the hell have I ever cared what everybody says?!", and it is truly liberating. XD

No, that's totally legit. I feel the same way. :P

...though I think the people who write slash about them are creepy, because writing stuff like that about actual people crosses a line somewhere on the face of my imaginative-moral compass. >_>

I know, right? XD

Anyways, there are lots of creepy people out there -- who can make me not-creepy, so I guess they're serving a purpose, at least. XD

Isn't the icon fabulous. I had to have it! I just love Eddie Izzard's comedy! Butch and drag, I ask you. He's a scream!

*sidles in* I adore Eddie. And really, any comedian that goes on and on about HISTORY? What epic win!

We need men and women that are that pumped up in our classrooms, teaching this stuff, don't we? Of course, if your that pumped up you are probably making money hand over first and teaching no one.

*sigh*

Hello! And welcome! XD

Ahh, this, my friend, is the wonderful and often extremely-androgynous Gerard Way, lead singer of the wonderful and sometimes slightly bizarre My Chemical Romance. :D

I definitely fell a bit in love with him when I fell a bit in love with the band, and a huge mood theme was the obvious solution... ^^;

Oh! I know them! I like them! I don't often bother with what bands look like since I am mostly just listening to them.

*breathes slight sigh - is not too old*

Aha! You totally win! 8D

I ran into MCR on YouTube first, which made it easier to get attached to their appearances just as fast as the actual music. XD
