Lots of Stuff!
Because boring the hell out of the lot of you is WAY MORE FUN than my French homework! :D

First of all, just to get this out of the way... Do they know how to market, or do they know how to market?

Yes, you now know a bit more about my internet habits.  Le gasp.

Frigging amazing fic, by the way.  If you like, you know, banter and smut and frigging hot boys getting into hysterically funny mind games and whatnot.

**Random Note:  ignoring any and all user tags today, not because I don't love you all immensely, but because LJ  is being a format tyrant and oppressing me**

My day was boring and involved a lot of troving around for a book of which there are not enough copies in the known world for all of my seminar to have one.  Despite the fact that half the class doesn't have said damn book, despite the fact that the bookstore she recommended is long since sold out, the professor's comment was, "Well, the quiz won't hurt your grades much."

Thanks!  Appreciate it! :D

...meanie poo-head.  >_>

After that stunning display of maturity...

Saw the rent-y place that has these on the drive up the other day:

Ah, but I have one!  And a goodly one he is!

Yeah, the point of all this inanity is that today is Baronanriel's and my three-month anniversary. :3

Which is a quarter of a year.  Holy crap.  O_o

Anyhoo... Sweetheart, you rock my world (and my socks) out loud.  Not to sound needy, but I'd reached a point in my life where I'd been beginning to despair that there really wasn't anyone out there who would see all of what I am, what I'm not, and what I aspire to be and find that strange conglomerate somehow beautiful.  But you, my dear, you have inexplicably done just that, and in the process of wading into this brave new world, I have discovered the truly wonderful human being that is my Sam.

So, honeybunnysugarmuffinbabykins, here's to you, to us, and to stupid kids in love. :3

Moment of incoherent glee... And then we can toddle right along to a meme nabbed from Jenwryn, which entails copying in the first line of your twenty most recent stories.

Me + meme = BAD PLAN, if you haven't noticed.

Just a wee bit.

This is including things I haven't finished.  The rules of this meme are surprisingly lenient, which of course is a legitimate reason to abuse them in my book. :P

Hell, while I'm breaking rules, I'll give you titles and stuff.  And in some cases, the first couple lines, for better dramatic effect! 8D

So, without further editorializing and ado, in most- to least-recent order, or at least the approximate order they're in on my computer, which isn't really right at all, and with a great deal of cheating and far, far too many comments...

1. Near was lying on his side on the floor, pushing his train back... and forth... and back... and forth, watching it as if it was lit up like Las Vegas, as if there was a movie showing on the other side of its tiny plastic windows.

(From a prompt Eltea gave me when we were playing the Drabble Game. 8D)

2. Near loved Christmas.

(lawl, I <3 Near, not that that's, you know, OBVIOUS.)

3. From where he sits curled on his four-poster bed, when the curtains around it conspire with the drapes at the window to part and whisper at the same moment, L can just see the moonrise.

(Another Drabble Game prompt. :D)

4. Light Yagami ought to know all about vampires.

(...and another. XD)

5. Nate River is surprisingly perceptive for a boy who never ventures outside alone.

("Certainty," one of the Margins drabble series. :3)

6. Shuichi Aizawa is home, for the first time in literally weeks.

(That sounds terrible, listening to it closely in my head.  In my defense, I wrote it at nine in the morning a few days ago before running to class.  In any case, it's another drabble, this one entitled, fittingly, "Home.")

7. Light Yagami hates to admit it, but he's a little bit of a grammar freak.

("This," another drabble.  I adore this one. :P)

8. With three abandoned little boys too smart for their own good around, L was the go-to man for comfort.

("Comfort," another drabble. XD  Are drabbles cheating? XD)

9. As Mello awoke, two tastes mingled, fighting for dominance, on his tongue -- chocolate and alcohol.

("Recorded History"! :D)

10. . The night pulsed, perhaps in solidarity.  Mihael Keehl was still breathing.

(Has no title yet, but will theoretically be awesome... It involves Matsuda.  Whom I adore.  More than mere words can adequately express. ^^;)

11. The phone was going to ring in two minutes.  But Matt didn't know that, and he didn't know what that phone call was going to do to his poor excuse for a life.

("Ruin," a Matt/Mello oneshot with an impressive quantity of extremely foul language. XD)

12. Light knuckles his eyes as he trudges into the bedroom.

("Bravery," which is also up on FF.net for your perusing pleasure. :3)

....*cheats, not wanting to list a bunch of drabbles you can just read anyway*

13. Through half-lidded eyes Light watches the usual commotion of the morning unfurl.

("Jokers Wild," which is... what it is. O_o)

14. It was shaping up to be an abysmally bad day.

("The End Is Near," which will hopefully be the DN equivalent of "Her and Me"...)

15. Mello's pulse was pounding in his ears.

("Grace," which, should I ever manage to write more than five paragraphs, will be slightly epic.  And, like, what is it with me and starting off with Mello's vital signs? :P)

16. Mello has been staring at the cracked silver mirror for three and a half hours almost exactly.

("Czech Mate." x) )

17. The television mumbles absently as Mail Jeevas -- Matt -- lights a cigarette and gratefully breathes the first lungful of deliberately tainted air.

("Rubble."  I like this one a lot.)

18. The air was thick with the faintly sulfurous breath of the fog machine, and the strobes played on it like lightning.

("Struck, the first Death Note piece I *evar* completed.)

19. Mello, fourteen and then some, shoved the car door significantly harder than necessary.

("Carousel," the mystery fic upon which I really should get my act together, because it has an Eltea-approved (and by 'approved,' I mean 'written') plot, which means it can and will be amazing.)

20. Hermione Granger wished, with some frequency, that she had deep, demonstrative pools of bittersweet chocolate and soft, supple curls like glazed mahogany with highlights of honey.

But she didn't.  What she had was brown eyes and brown hair.

(O hai there, HP! ...yeah, I fudged this meme so that I could reward any despairing HP fans who got this far with **fanfare** the first line of "The Epic Resolution"!  The next paragraph had to be included for you to get the rest of the joke. XD)

...

And I'm supposed to see if I can find any patterns.  This was expli-i-cated in the rules.  The first obvious pattern is that I am LAMITY LAME LAME, and the second is that I like Mello too much, and the third is that I almost always start out with the principal character's first, or often first and last, name.  Because... I do. :P  How dreadfully dynamic I am. XD

And now that I've mangled the living hell out of that meme, I should scuttle off and do my French homework.

Or have some chocolate.  That sounds preeetty enticing. :D
Life?  What's a life? 8D

That's an interesting meme. I'm not sure I'd be able to figure out how to list the most recent 20. And thanks for the Hermione one. :)

Congrats on your anniversary. Funny how I was, perhaps unconsciously, assuming his name was Nathaniel, probably because that's what I think when I see "Baronanriel." Kind of a tongue twister, isn't it? Or I'm saying it wrong. Btw, I'm not even entirely sure how to pronounce Tierfal. I say "tear-fall." That right?
Vitamin Ctierfal on September 3rd, 2008 09:10 pm (UTC)
It might've been substantially more interesting if I haven't been such a total Death Note freak lately, but I had a good time. XD And you're quite welcome! ^^; One of these days I WILL write that fic. XD

And thanks! ^^ baronanriel > Nathaniel makes perfect sense to me. :P My favorite was when, about three days in, we went to lunch with some of his friends, and they were drilling me, and one of the questions was "Are you prepared to change your name to Baroness Anriel?"

I was amused.

And yeah, you've got it right. :D
Marmmarmaladefever on September 3rd, 2008 09:18 pm (UTC)
Oh, good. I'm always afraid I'm mispronouncing people's names in my head.

Baroness. Hee hee.
Vitamin Ctierfal on September 3rd, 2008 09:33 pm (UTC)
Yeah, I find a penname that baffles me from time to time, and I don't want to start talking about somebody and say their name utterly wrong. XD

:D

Thanks! ^^;

Yeah, I was reminiscing about that with some amusement... Guess it just goes to show that some things in life go unexpectedly right. XD
