Earthyquake! :O
Earthyquake just went down.

It's true; I felt it.  Little one, though; didn't even knock my empty water bottle over...

...I was a bit concerned when things started shuddering, though, since apparently we're due for a huge-as-hell one sometime in the next decade or two, and the odds of it being on the fault that runs pretty much straight through my school are one in three.

We had a little tiny one last year, too.  Wtf, California?  Why are you strike-slipping and whatnot? D:

The one last year was soooo scary! It shook my entire building and ours is only three stories. Swigg is 10 stories and they evacuated it. I'm super paranoid about earthquakes now and always freak out when I think I've felt one. XP Half the time no one believes me when I say I've felt one, but I DO feel them! I just happen to feel a lot of them...I'm not crazy I swear.

Well, if you trust the map on the site I linked to, it looks like there are little ones everywhere practically all the time... So I believe you. ;)

Really, though, don't worry too much -- after Loma Prieta, everything is adjusted to such stringent standards that almost invariably, everything's okay, even when they're a little stronger. :)

Plus, as my roommates and I were discussing when Gustav was rumbling towards New Orleans and Frances had been evacuated from Tulane, while earthquakes are less predictable than hurricanes, we're pretty sure we prefer them. x)
